Port Services Corporation (S.A.O.G) strives continuously to provide Port Facilities that increases productivity, efficiency and assures a hassle free experience leading to customer satisfaction. Port Sultan Qaboos (PSQ) offers a number of facilities designed for handling passengers and cargo.

The facilities empower our customers to move different types of cargo through the port.  The port provides efficient round-the-clock service ensuring quick turn a round. Round-the-Clock-Pilotage services. With its extensive and modern facilities, Port Sultan Qaboos has made its mark in the International Shipping Circle.

Service to Vessels

There are specialized terminal facilities to accommodate different types of vessels such as container, non-containerized multi-purpose cargo carriers, Pure Car Carriers, Live Stock Carriers and bulk – Liquid / Dry carriers, cruise vessels, naval vessels and others. There are eight deep water berths for commercial operations, one berth for ferry services and four berths under government use.

Berths 1 & 2

Multipurpose berths 1 & 2 are 470 meters (1540 ft) in length and have a depth alongside of 13 meters (43 ft) . Both are served by the port's three state-of-the-art 40-tonne capacity Reggiani Quayside Gantry cranes - two with a 36.5-meter outreach and one with 38-meter (125 ft) outreach - capable of handling modern vessels. Height from rail to under spreader is 27 meters (89 ft). Berths 1 & 2 also have a Bulk conveyor facility with a rated capacity of 500 tonnes per hour.

Berths 3

228 meters (750 ft) length and 11 meters (36 ft) draft chart datum can handle general purpose vessels and bulk carriers.

Berths 4 & 5

Discharging to the container terminal, Berths 4 & 5 - 366 meters (1,200 ft) long and 10.9 meters (36 ft) draft chart datum - are served by a pair of 35-tonne capacity IHI gantries, both featuring a 36-meter outreach and height from rail to under spreader of 22 meters (72 ft).

Berths 6

198 meters (650 ft) long with a draft of 9.6 meters can handle RORO and WOWO vessels in addition to break bulk conventional cargo vessels.

Berths 7 & 8

With a length of 366 meters (1200 ft) can handle general purpose vessels and this berth is backed up by covered sheds.

Berths 9

With a length of 122 meters (400 ft) and a draft of 4 meters (13 ft) , this berth is mainly used to handle marine crafts and ferry service by National Ferries Company.

Sheds, Yards and Storage Facility

Port Services Corporation has silos facilities for storing 120,000 MT of grain, 2000 MT of bitumen, and cement silos of 14,500 MT. The port can handle over 350,000 TEUs of container throughput per annum. In addition to one dedicated Container Freight Station, there are three covered sheds adjacent to the berths to support conventional cargo storage.
